Steering Rack for Volvo 240
A number of designs are used in the steering systems of many vehicles, but the rack and pinion steering system has become the most common in the United States’ car market because they tend to give the driver a better feel for the road. Thus, we have the Volvo 240 Steering Rack you need. The steering rack is part of a gear system that causes the wheels to veer to the right or left.
This works by converting the rotational motion of the pinion gear into linear motion on the steering rack. As the pinion gear rotates, its teeth push the flat, horizontal rack gear left or right.
The rack is attached to the wheels by a tie rod, and this is the basic mechanism for how a car turns. In a power steering system, the basic mechanism is more or less the same, with a major exception being the need for the power steering fluid. The leakage of this fluid is a good indicator that something is wrong with the steering rack. At that point, a new steering rack is needed in the vehicle. When you put in your new Volvo 240 Steering Rack, make sure to flush out and replace all the old power steering fluid, as metal sheers may still be floating about in it. Also, do be sure to get the correct power steering fluid, as it is specific to the vehicle. So if it is time to replace your steering rack, take a look at our selection of Volvo 240 Steering Racks. They are of the highest quality and are specifically designed to integrate smoothly into your Volvo 240’s steering system.
