Brake Rotors for Chevy Equinox
Chevy Equinox Brakes are made up of several components. It all starts with the brake pedal, which when pushed, activates the master cylinder. The master cylinder then distributes a special hydraulic fluid throughout the four wheels - specifically to the slave cylinders.
Under tremendous pressure, this liquid now can exert thousands of pounds of pressure on the cylinder, which causes a pair of calipers to squeeze shut on the brake linings attached to the brake rotors. The brake linings are what provide a surface that creates friction against the calipers, actually stopping the vehicle.
One nice thing about brakes is that they start to cry long before they're actually hurt. A whining or squealing noise indicates that the brake linings are starting to wear.
If not replaced, the whining will continue, eventually giving way to an ugly "grinding" sound, which means the brake linings are gone and the calipers are grabbing onto the bare metal of the rotors. This is a bad situation, and will cost you mucho dinero. Another way to damage your brake rotor is to ride the brake when going downhill. It won't happen the first time, but if done on a regular basis, your brakes will eventually over heat and the rotors will warp or crack. (Good rule of thumb: go down the hill in the same gear you came up it, and let your engine compression slow the vehicle.) In any event, if you should experience brake problems, we are here for you with great discounts on everything you need for your Chevy Equinox Brakes.Keep those Chevy Equinox Brakes on the job and in top condition by purchasing quality parts right here.
